عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: «الطُّهُورُ شَطْرُ الْإِيمَانِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ تَمْلَأُ الْمِيزَانَ، وَسُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ تَمْلَآنِ – أَوْ تَمْلَأُ – مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ، وَالصَّلَاةُ نُورٌ، وَالصَّدَقَةُ بُرْهَانٌ، وَالصَّبْرُ ضِيَاءٌ، وَالْقُرْآنُ حُجَّةٌ لَكَ أَوْ عَلَيْكَ. كُلُّ النَّاسِ يَغْدُو فَبَائِعٌ نَفْسَهُ فَمُعْتِقُهَا أَوْ مُوبِقُهَا».

English Translation

On the authority of Abu Malik al-Harith ibn ʻAsim al-Ashʻari (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Purity is half of faith. ‘Al-hamdu lillah’ fills the scale, and ‘Subhan Allah’ and ‘al-hamdu lillah’ fill — or fill up — what is between the heavens and the earth. Prayer is light, charity is a proof, patience is illumination, and the Qur’an is a proof for you or against you. Every person sets out in the morning and sells his own soul, either freeing it or destroying it.”

Waxaa laga weriyay Abu Maalik al-Xaarith ibn ʻAasim al-Ashʻari (Allaha raalli ka noqdo), inuu yidhi: Rasuulka ﷺ wuxuu yidhi: “Nadaafadu waa kala badhka iimaanka. ‘Al-xamdu lillaah’ waxay buuxisaa miisaanka, ‘Subxaan Allah’ iyo ‘al-xamdu lillaah’ waxay buuxiyaan inta u dhaxaysa cirka iyo dhulka. Salaaddu waa nuur, sadaqaduna waa caddayn, samirkuna waa iftiin, Qur’aankuna waa kuu marag ama kaa marag. Dad waluba subaxdii wuu kaca isagoo iibinaya naftiisa, mid xoreeya ama mid halaagsada.”
