عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ نَاسًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالُوا لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، ذَهَبَ أَهْلُ الدُّثُورِ بِالْأُجُورِ، يُصَلُّونَ كَمَا نُصَلِّي، وَيَصُومُونَ كَمَا نَصُومُ، وَيَتَصَدَّقُونَ بِفُضُولِ أَمْوَالِهِمْ. قَالَ: «أَوَلَيْسَ قَدْ جَعَلَ اللهُ لَكُمْ مَا تَصَّدَّقُونَ؟ إِنَّ بِكُلِّ تَسْبِيحَةٍ صَدَقَةً، وَكُلِّ تَكْبِيرَةٍ صَدَقَةً، وَكُلِّ تَحْمِيدَةٍ صَدَقَةً، وَكُلِّ تَهْلِيلَةٍ صَدَقَةً، وَأَمْرٌ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ صَدَقَةٌ، وَنَهْيٌ عَنْ مُنْكَرٍ صَدَقَةٌ، وَفِي بُضْعِ أَحَدِكُمْ صَدَقَةٌ». قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَيَأْتِي أَحَدُنَا شَهْوَتَهُ وَيَكُونُ لَهُ فِيهَا أَجْرٌ؟ قَالَ: «أَرَأَيْتُمْ لَوْ وَضَعَهَا فِي حَرَامٍ أَكَانَ عَلَيْهِ وِزْرٌ؟ فَكَذَلِكَ إِذَا وَضَعَهَا فِي الْحَلَالِ كَانَ لَهُ أَجْرٌ».

English Translation

On the authority of Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), that some of the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ said to him: “O Messenger of Allah, the wealthy have taken the rewards: they pray as we pray, they fast as we fast, and they give charity from the surplus of their wealth.” He said: “Has Allah not made for you ways to give charity? In every glorification of Allah (tasbih) there is a charity, in every declaration of His greatness (takbir) there is a charity, in every praise of Him (tahmid) there is a charity, in every declaration that there is no god but Allah (tahlil) there is a charity; enjoining good is a charity, forbidding evil is a charity, and in the intimacy of any one of you with his spouse there is a charity.” They said: “O Messenger of Allah, when one of us fulfils his desire, will he have a reward for that?” He said: “Do you not see that were he to act upon it unlawfully, he would be sinning? Likewise, if he acts upon it lawfully, he will have a reward.”

Waxaa laga weriyay Abu Dharr (Allaha raalli ka noqdo), in qaar ka mid ah Saxaabada Nabiga ﷺ ay ku yidhaahdeen: “Rasuulka Allahow, kuwa hodanka ahi waxay la tageen ajarrada: way tukadaan sidaan u tukanno, way soomaan sidaan u soonno, waxayna sadaqaysadaan maalkooda dheeraadka ah.” Wuxuu yidhi: “Miyaanu Allah idiin yeelin waxaad sadaqaysataan? Tasbiix kasta waa sadaqo, takbiir kasta waa sadaqo, taxmiid kasta waa sadaqo, tahliil kasta waa sadaqo, amar wanaag waa sadaqo, reeb xumaan waa sadaqo, oo galmada midkiin (xaaska) waxaa ku jira sadaqo.” Waxay yidhaahdeen: “Rasuulka Allahow, ma midkeen baahidiisa buu gaadhsadaa oo uu ajar ku helaa?” Wuxuu yidhi: “Ma aragtaan haddii uu si xaaraan ah u sameeyo, dembi miyaanu noqonayn? Sidaas oo kale, haddii uu si xalaal ah u sameeyo, ajar buu helayaa.”
