New Muslim Session
New Muslim Session
Welcome to Islam!
At the Lewiston Auburn Islamic Center, we warmly welcome all new Muslims into our community. Whether you have just embraced Islam or are simply looking to learn more, we are here to support you every step of the way. Our New Muslim Session is designed to provide guidance, knowledge, and a sense of belonging as you take your first steps in your new faith.
What We Offer
Our New Muslim Sessions are a safe space where you can ask questions, share experiences, and connect with others who are also exploring Islam. These sessions cover various topics, including:
Introduction to Islam: A basic overview of the core beliefs and practices of Islam.
Learning the Five Pillars of Islam: Understand the foundational practices of Islam, including Shahada (faith), Salat (prayers), Zakat (charity), Sawm (fasting), and Hajj (pilgrimage).
- Understanding the Quran: Learn how to read, understand, and reflect on the teachings of the Quran.
- Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): Introduction to the life and teachings of the final Prophet.
- Prayer and Rituals: A step-by-step guide on performing the daily prayers (Salat) and other Islamic rituals.
Support for New Muslims
We understand that embracing a new faith can be both exciting and challenging. That’s why we offer ongoing support, including:
One-on-One Guidance: Meet with our Imam for personal counseling and spiritual guidance.
Mentorship Program: We connect new Muslims with mentors who are experienced in the faith to provide support and advice as you adjust to your new life.
Community Support: We encourage you to participate in our regular activities, prayers, and social events to strengthen your connection with other members of the community.
Arabic and Quranic Classes: For those who wish to learn Arabic and deepen their understanding of the Quran, we offer classes to help you along your spiritual journey.
Workshops and Lectures: Engaging discussions on current topics from an Islamic perspective.
We also host various special events, lectures, and seminars that cater to a wide audience.
