عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِيمَا يَرْوِيهِ عَنْ رَبِّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى قَالَ: «إِنَّ اللهَ كَتَبَ الْحَسَنَاتِ وَالسَّيِّئَاتِ ثُمَّ بَيَّنَ ذَلِكَ: فَمَنْ هَمَّ بِحَسَنَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا كَتَبَهَا اللهُ عِنْدَهُ حَسَنَةً كَامِلَةً، وَإِنْ هَمَّ بِهَا فَعَمِلَهَا كَتَبَهَا اللهُ عِنْدَهُ عَشْرَ حَسَنَاتٍ إِلَى سَبْعِمِائَةِ ضِعْفٍ إِلَى أَضْعَافٍ كَثِيرَةٍ، وَإِنْ هَمَّ بِسَيِّئَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا كَتَبَهَا اللهُ عِنْدَهُ حَسَنَةً كَامِلَةً، وَإِنْ هَمَّ بِهَا فَعَمِلَهَا كَتَبَهَا اللهُ سَيِّئَةً وَاحِدَةً».

English Translation

On the authority of Ibn ʻAbbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, from what he related from his Lord, the Blessed and Exalted, who said: “Verily Allah has recorded the good deeds and the bad deeds, and then made that clear: whoever intends a good deed but does not do it, Allah records it with Himself as a complete good deed; and if he intends it and does it, Allah records it with Himself as ten good deeds, up to seven hundred times, up to many times over. And whoever intends a bad deed but does not do it, Allah records it with Himself as a complete good deed; and if he intends it and does it, Allah records it as a single bad deed.”

Waxaa laga weriyay Ibn ʻAbbaas (Allaha raalli ka noqdo labadoodaba), oo ka wariya Rasuulka ﷺ, kana wariya Rabbigiis tabaaraka wa taʼaalaa, inuu yidhi: “Hubaal Allah wuxuu qoray xasanaadka (wanaagga) iyo sayyiʼaadka (xumaanta), kadibna wuu caddeeyay: qofkii ku himaa (damca) wanaag oonu samayn, Allah wuxuu agtiisa ugu qoraa wanaag dhammaystiran; haddii uu himo oo uu sameeyona, Allah wuxuu agtiisa ugu qoraa toban wanaag ilaa toddoba boqol jibbaar ilaa jibbaarro badan. Qofkii ku himaa xumaan oonu samayn, Allah wuxuu agtiisa ugu qoraa wanaag dhammaystiran; haddii uu himo oo uu sameeyona, Allah wuxuu u qoraa hal xumaan oo keliya.”
